Cleaning Up (After Hunter) - Tips and Tricks

  1. Iced Tea Mix (also Hot Chocolate Mix) - DO NOT VACCUUM.  The dust will plug the motor. Use a broom for majority, vaccuum excess, wash floors with soap and water - may have to do twice if you missed some as this will essentially be washing your floors with either juice or hot chocolate.
  2. Smooshed Plum on the Carpet (thrown) - Remove large pieces, apply paper towel gently to soak up excess, use hot water and dishsoap - comes right out.
  3.
    nail polish

  4. Popcorn - DO NOT VACCUUM.  Popcorn sticks to the inside of the shaft and plugs up inside the bag/canister.  Use a broom.  Don't bother asking for help as child may prefer to try to smoosh it into carpet.
  5. Baby bum cream (Penatin or Goats Milk variety) - Use warm dishcloth on cupboards, requires scrubbing and extra dishsoap on carpets.
  6. Nail polish (any colour) - Will not come off walls, even with magic eraser.  The cheaper the polish, the more likely you will need to repaint. Prime first, it's worse than permanent marker.
  7. Coloured Hair Gel: DO NOT PEEL.  This will remove precious pieces of your drywall. Use hot water and dishsoap.
  8.
    ceiling

  9. Pancake Syrup - Hope you caught this quickly. Extra hot water and dishsoap will remove it from the carpet.  If it's on your duvet cover, try the same, wash it, or save the trouble and just buy a new one (you might have to anyway).
  10. Honey - again, hot water and dishsoap, lots of scrubbing, it will come out of carpets.
  11. Yogurt/pudding on stippled ceiling - actually, I don't know the answer to this one. I've taken pudding (and stipple) off with regular cloth. I assume I will have to get that redone. Accepting suggestions though.
10.  Permanent marker - Prime.. wait for it... might need two coats. Paint
